Resources for lesson: ● Literary devices powerpoint (with excerpts from texts) ● Worksheet for students with comprehension and analysis prompts Objective: ● Explore the literary devices of satire, sarcasm and parody. ● Analyse scenes from the texts Summer Heights High, The inbetweeners (edited so no swearing) and Not another Teen Movie and how they utilise each device as well as use it to portray adolescents. ● Start to consider how these devices might assist in developing their monologue assessment. This complete lesson was designed as part of an English Unit for year 10 English: Representations of adolescents.
